Shipping policy

SHIPPING & DELIVERY POLICY

1. SHIPPING COSTS

Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout where possible.
For furniture, oversized, high-value or fragile items, shipping may require an individual quote. In this case, please contact us for a personal shipping quote. The applicable shipping cost will be confirmed before the order is finalised.
International shipping costs may vary depending on the destination, dimensions, weight, value and specific handling or packing requirements of the item.

2. DELIVERY OPTIONS

We offer delivery within Belgium and international shipping through selected transport partners.
Depending on the item and destination, delivery may be arranged by parcel service, specialist furniture transporter, freight carrier or another suitable transport provider.
Large, valuable or fragile items may require specialist handling, additional protective packaging or a custom-made wooden crate. Where applicable, these costs will be included in or added to the shipping quotation and communicated before confirmation.
Personal delivery may also be available for certain destinations by prior arrangement.

3. PACKAGING

All items are packed with care and according to their size, materials, condition and fragility.
Vintage furniture and objects can require specific handling due to their age, construction or materials. Where specialist packing or crating is considered necessary for safe international transport, this will be arranged accordingly.
Customers are requested to retain all original packaging in the event of transport damage, as the packaging may be required to process a claim with the carrier or insurer.

4. DELIVERY TIMES

Delivery times depend on the item, destination and transport method.
Any delivery times provided at checkout or in a shipping quotation are estimates unless a specific delivery date has expressly been agreed.
International deliveries may be subject to customs procedures and other circumstances outside our direct control.
We will make reasonable efforts to keep customers informed of significant delays.

5. TRANSPORT DAMAGE

Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery.
If an item arrives damaged, please notify LA RAMON as soon as possible and preferably within 3 working days of delivery.
Please provide clear photographs of:

the item as received;
the damage;
the external packaging or crate;
the internal packaging and protective materials; and
any visible damage to the packaging before or during unpacking.

Please retain all packaging materials until the matter has been resolved, as these may be required by the transporter or insurer.
We will assess the damage and, where applicable, initiate a claim with the carrier or transport insurer and provide an appropriate solution in accordance with applicable law.
Failure to report visible transport damage within 3 working days may make it more difficult to establish a transport claim, but does not affect any mandatory statutory rights the customer may have.

6. RISK DURING TRANSPORT

Where LA RAMON arranges or offers the transport, the risk of loss or damage remains with LA RAMON until the customer, or a third party designated by the customer other than the carrier, has physically received the goods, in accordance with applicable consumer law.
If the customer independently appoints a carrier that was not offered by LA RAMON, the transfer of risk may occur when the goods are handed over to that carrier, as provided by applicable law.

7. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS, CUSTOMS & IMPORT CHARGES

For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees or other charges may be imposed by the destination country.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, these charges are not included in the product or shipping price and are the responsibility of the customer.
Customers are responsible for providing any information or documentation reasonably required for customs clearance.
Customs procedures may result in additional delivery time.

8. DELIVERY ACCESS

For furniture and oversized items, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the item can reasonably be delivered to the intended location.
Please check doorways, staircases, lifts and other access points before ordering.
Any unusual access requirements should be communicated to us before transport is arranged.
Additional costs resulting from access restrictions that were not communicated in advance may be charged to the customer where permitted by law.

9. RETURNS

Returns and the statutory right of withdrawal are governed by our Terms of Service and applicable consumer legislation.
For furniture, oversized or fragile objects, return shipping may require specialist transport and appropriate protective packaging.
Unless otherwise required by law or agreed with LA RAMON, the direct cost of returning goods following the exercise of the statutory right of withdrawal is borne by the customer.
Please contact us before arranging the return of a large or fragile item so that suitable transport and packaging requirements can be discussed.
