Sculptural modular bookshelf “Harpa”, designed by Italian designer Giorgio Gurioli for Oasis as part of the experimental ODUE Concept project.

The Harpa bookshelf is conceived as a modular shelving system distinguished by its highly sculptural, organic structure. The shelves are connected by fluid, biomorphic supports that resemble stretched drops or mushroom-like forms, creating a dynamic rhythm throughout the piece. Circular recessed elements integrated into the shelves reinforce the graphic and architectural character of the design.

Developed within the ODUE Concept, a research-driven project initiated around the early 2000s, the design reflects Gurioli’s exploration of “sensitive space” — an investigation into how objects interact with their surroundings and with human perception. Rather than purely functional furniture, pieces from this concept line were intended as hybrid objects situated between design, architecture, and sculpture.

The result is a bookshelf that reads almost as an installation or sculptural object. The vibrant red lacquer finish further enhances its visual presence, making it a striking focal point in contemporary or collectible interiors.

Examples of this design are rarely seen on the market, suggesting that the model was produced in relatively limited numbers.

Good vintage condition. Two small areas of paint loss are present; these minor imperfections are visible in the photographs and do not affect the structure or overall visual impact of the piece.
